Show them some love…

We guarantee our flowers to be at their absolute best for at least 3-5 days.  Delicate & seasonal flowers can have a shorter vase life than the more robust stems, which is why we try to mix varieties in your designs. Many stems can last weeks, so if you have a specific requirement let us know prior to ordering.

It’s really important to show your blooms some love which will make sure they last as long as possible.  Here are FH’s flower care instructions…

Hand Tied Aqua Pack

If your bouquet has been supplied in a water pack with flower food, the flowers can be left in the pack for up to 48 hours but then ideally the water should be changed to keep them fresh.  You can snip the base of the water bag over the sink to release the water and then remove the outer celophane layers.  The bouquet should still be tied with string inside.  Make sure your chosen vase is meticulously cleaned, add some tepid tap water, add the flower food we supplied, following the instructions on the packet, cut approximately 5 cm from the end of the stems (for best results cut stems at an angle) then stand the hand tied design in your vase.  Remember to keep flowers in a cool, draught free area, and out of direct sunlight.  The cooler the room, the longer your flowers will last but remember, flowers really don’t like draughts.  Remove any faded blooms or foliage as soon as possible.  Change the water in the vase twice a week for the best flower care.

Hand Tied Rose Bouquet

Do not untie your flowers, cut stems at an angle about 5cm from the end and stand in a clean vase of water with flower food added.  Change water in the vase at least twice a week.  If the rose head flops, cut off the stem end as above and stand the rose in 1 inch of boiling water as soon as possible.  Keep the roses away from draughts, fruit and radiators, the cooler the room the longer they will last.

Cut Flowers & Bunches

On receipt of your flowers, unwrap with care.  Add flower food to water in a clean vase.  Cut the base of the stem, removing any foliage that will sit below the water level. Arrange your flowers and place the vase away from direct sunlight, radiators and draughts.  The cooler the room, the longer the flowers will last.  Change the water at least twice a week, remove any faded blooms to encourage buds to open.

Arrangement in Oasis

On receipt of your flower arrangement top up the container with water.  Keep topped up as flowers drink water.  Keep the arrangement away from draughts, sunlight and radiators.  The cooler the room, the longer the flowers will last.  Remove blooms as they fade.

Plants

Do not stand plants on polished surfaces or televisions.  Most plants can be mist sprayed lightly but not hairy leaved plants.  Avoid draughts and direct heat.

Pampas

Handle your pampas stems with care to avoid them shedding.  If they need freshening up, give them a very gentle fluff up outside.  They can be sprayed with a fine mist of hairspray to help reduce shedding.  Display your pampas in a clean dry vase and be careful not to let them get damp (not ideal for bathrooms), keep them away from extremes of heat and lit flames such as candles.

Dried Stems

Handle your dried flower stems with care to avoid breakage.  If they need freshening up, give them a very gentle shake and blow.  Display your preserved flowers in a clean dry vase and be careful not to let them get damp (not ideal for bathrooms), keep them away from extremes of heat and lit flames such as candles.
